Let’s talk Blue Mountain Coffee…

“Everybody should believe in something.  I believe I’ll have another coffee.” -Author Unknown

The Blue Mountains are located between the towns of Kingston and Port Maria on the island of Jamaica. They are the highest mountains in the Caribbean, which creates the ideal environment for coffee harvesting. The cool and misty mountains see quite a bit of rainfall, making the soil especially rich and fertile. Over the past decades, Blue Mountain Coffee has become a delicacy of sorts in the world of coffee.  This rare and highly sought after coffee contains less caffeine than any other species of coffee and is recognized for its mild flavor and lack of bitterness.  So why is this  coffee so celebrated amongst coffee drinkers??

Well, much of this has to do with the fact that Blue Mountain is rather difficult to come by.  The scarcity occurs as a result of the 7+ years it takes for the coffee to mature properly as well as the strict requirements and laws imposed by the Coffee Industry Board of Jamaica (CIB). The CIB approves and issues licenses to the cultivators and exporters of Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee through an arduous process that ensures only the most deserving coffee beans — those harvested under precise conditions, at an elevation of 3000-5000 feet, with perfect size and color — end up in official Blue Mountain coffee bags.

Marley Coffee waited patiently (for 6 years) to receive approval andcertification from the Jamaican Coffee Industry Board. This year we were finally granted our Special Dealer’s License, which allows us to export our own Marley Blue Mountain Coffee.

Marley Coffee has partnered up with the esteemed Blue Mountain coffee company, Coffee Traders, who has helped us to provide you with this first line of Marley Blue Mountain Coffee. With that said, we are thrilled to introduce Talkin’ Blues, the newest, delicious member of the Marley Coffee family! Next on deck…Blue Legend, the limited edition, certified organic Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee, which comes directly from our 52-acre farm in Chepstowe, Portland.

Soon Come!
ONE LOVE!
